Joseph has experience in defending a range of construction professionals and their insurers in different claims from fire safety defects in large residential developments to drainage under large residential estates. As a result, he has acted in bringing Part 20 claims against other parties involved in the projects. He has attended and worked on case management conferences, interim application hearings, a mediation, without prejudice meetings and strike out hearings. He has worked on a wide range of contract types including JCT, NEC and bespoke contracts. His work also includes payment disputes on payment applications and final accounts. Joseph spent six months on secondment at one of the world’s largest fuel and liquid transport infrastructure companies, who deliver fuel for 4/10 UK flights with 2,000km of pipeline.
Joseph’s notable experience includes:
- Defending a main contractor across a portfolio of claims (>c.£150m) for fire safety defects.
- Defending a fire engineer in relation to fire safety defects (>c.£12m).
- Defending a top 5 UK university in various claims brought by ex-students.
- Defending a CEO for claims brought by investors.
